Configuration

The settings are in Pybara Donate in your WordPress admin menu. Until the setup is complete, a notice in your WordPress admin lists the steps left, each linking to its place in the settings.

  1. Connect your recipient wallet, in the Recipient Wallet card.
  2. Verify your website with a DNS record, in the Website verification card.
  3. Accept the Terms of Service and click Save Settings, at the bottom of the page.
  4. Place the widget on a page, as shown in the Embed card.

The widget appears once the first three are done. There is nothing else to do: your site is registered with its first donation, and then appears in Pybara Wallet’s Manage → Sites.

The toggle at the top turns the widget on or off everywhere it is placed, without losing your settings. Useful to pause donations without uninstalling the plugin.

The wallet donations are paid into. Click Connect Pybara Wallet, confirm your WordPress password, then sign in to Pybara Wallet: the plugin saves the wallet’s principal and shows it, with the date it was saved. Update connects a different wallet the same way.

Pybara Wallet gives you your donation history, withdrawals to exchanges such as Kraken or Coinbase, and AutoStable.

Donations are paid only to a wallet your domain allows. You allow it by publishing a DNS record, with your domain provider:

Type Name Value
TXT _pybara-payto Your recipient wallet’s principal

The card shows the exact record for your site, with copy buttons, and which domain’s DNS settings it goes in. Once it is published, click Check: the card reads Verified, and the widget appears. Until then, the widget stays hidden, so a donor never meets a donation that cannot go through.

One record covers all your subdomains. A new record can take a few minutes to appear.

If the record lists a different wallet from the one saved, the card says so and offers Use this wallet instead, or the record to publish for keeping yours.

Your commission per donation. Process your first donation this year to lock its rate for life; once locked, the card says so. See Pricing.

The tokens donors can give with. The list is read-only and follows Pybara: a token Pybara disables disappears from it. See Supported Tokens.

Volatile token donations can be converted to a stablecoin as they settle. This is set in Pybara Wallet, for every site paid into that wallet: see AutoStable.

If Pybara pauses the widget or recurring donations, during a security response or maintenance for instance, the card shows Currently disabled by Pybara. While the widget is paused it shows nowhere; while recurring donations are, one-time donations still work. Your settings are kept, and both come back on their own.

  • Thank You Message: what the donor sees after giving. Leave blank for the widget’s default message.
  • Redirect URL (optional): a page to send the donor to instead, such as your own thank-you page.

Place the widget wherever donations should be taken, in any of three ways:

  • Block: add the Pybara Donate block in the editor.
  • Shortcode: paste [pybara_donate] in any post, page or widget area.
  • Theme template: add <?php echo do_shortcode('[pybara_donate]'); ?> to a template file.

See Embedding for details.

Tick I have read and agree to the Pybara Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then click Save Settings. Settings take effect on the live widget at once. When the terms change, the plugin asks again.

The widget follows your WordPress site language (Settings → General → Site Language) in English, French, Spanish and German. For any other site language, it follows the visitor’s browser language.
